The ODROID means Open + Android. It is a development platform with hardware as well as software.

Normally within two weeks when we have stock inventory. If not, it may take 4~7weeks for production lead time. We use the UPS/Fedex and it takes around 1 week all over the world. If your country is not covered by UPS/Fedex, it will be shipped via EMS.
What will I get when I buy one? ODROID-XU3 board, a heatsink/fan, a 5V/4A PSU and a shell plastic case.
Why is the price in US Dollars? You are a Korean company! Most of components/devices we buy are priced in dollars. Because currency markets are too much volatile at the moment, we pice the final board in dollars to minimize changing of the price.

The SoC is a Samsung Exynos5422 Octa.

How does it boot?
You have to boot from SD card or eMMC.
Can I buy OS pre-loaded SD card or eMMC?
Yes. Add to cart it when you purchase the storage devices.
Can I add extra RAM memory?
No. The RAM is a PpP package on top of the SoC, so it’s not removable or swappable.
How can I get Ubuntu/Android BSP source code?
It will be released via out Github from the first shipping date. (2014-Oct-18)
How can I root(rooting) the Android?
Unlocked/Rooted by default for developers
How can I install the Google Play (Android Market)?
Download GMS(Google Mobile Service) package from internet and install it with below instruction. 1. Unzip GMS package in gms directory for example. Enter into gms directory 2. adb remount 3. adb push system/ system 4. reboot and enjoy
I have other ODROID board. Is it upgradable to ODROID-XU3?

Can I get data sheet for all parts?
No. Available data sheets are all linked on our website. Others might need NDA process with chip manufactures.
Can you test it to make sure that it is suitable for ?
If you want to use it for something that we haven’t tested, and that it’s not intended for (i.e. anything but the educational work we’re planning for it), then that development work is up to you. But a lot of community members will try to answer for your question.
Where is the +E model ?
XU3 has the 4 energy sensors by default.

Any Low-cost model ?
I agree that XU3 is too expensive for individuals or students. We have a plan to sell a much cheaper($100 or less) model from December 2014.
Where is the XU2 ? XU2 was developed with Exynos-5420 at the end of 2013. But it had a critical issue of HMP due to the hardware limitation. So we used it only for internal development.

I have a USB-Serial converter. Should I buy your USB-UART module kit? Yes. Because UART port of ODROID-XU is 1.8Volt interface. So the normal USB-Serial can't be used with ODROID-XU. We strongly recommend to use our USB-UART module kit.
How to access internet with ODROID-XU3? - Use a 10/100 LAN Ethernet connection or Buy the WiFi module kit for wireless connection. or Buy the USB 3.0 to Gigabit Ethernet module for faster connection.
What display can I use?
There is a HDMI output and a DisplayPort output on ODROID-XU3. HDMI can support only 720p/1080p resolution with 16:9 wide display. HDMI-DVI converter may work with many DVI monitors but a few of them will not work due to compatibility issue.
DisplayPort can support various resolution up to 3840x2016(4K/UHD). But GPU and MFC(multi-media accelerator) may not have enough performance to handle the resolution correctly.
We recommend 9inch HDMI LCD kit with capacitive touch screen if you want to develop the modern user interface.
There is no analog VGA/TV port.
Is there touch screen on the 9 inch HDMI LCD Kit? Yes. 10-points multi-touch screen via USB interface.
Where can I get HDMI cable?
You can purchase it from any open market such as ebay. Or you can purchase one on our website. Micro-HDMI or Type-D connector is required.
My monitor doesn't have HDMI port. Any other display options are available?
You can use out 9-inch LCD kit which you can purchase on on our website.
Is sound over HDMI supported?
What about standard audio in and out?
There is a standard 3.5mm jack for audio out.
Mono Microphone input is also supported via 3.5mm jack.
SPDIF or Optical path-through?
It is possible with USB-SPDIF interface. But it works with only XBMC on Ubuntu. Android platform doesn't support the 5.1ch pass-through.
What is eMMC module?
NAND flash based storage IC is mounted on our custom PCB for easier upgrade/replacement. It is much faster than SD card. Transfer rate of eMMC 5.0 is 200MB/sec approx. in the real world, while SD card is only 30~40MB/sec approx.
Do you have SATA port?
We support the SATA interface via SuperSpeed USB 3.0 USB 3.0 to SATA interface kit works with 3.5inch and 2.5inch HDD/SSD. Average transfer rate is 100MB/sec approx.
Which power adaptor should I use?
We recommend 5V 4A adaptor. Inner diameter is 2.1mm, outer diameter is 5.5mm. Center is Positiver an Outer is Negative.
Normally ODROID-XU3 consumes about 1~2Amp in most cases. But it can go up to 4A when the computing load is very high with a few USB devices.
What operating system (OS) does it use?
We recommend Android and Ubuntu as our default distribution. The OS is stored on the SD card or eMMC.
Which Android & Ubuntu version is included?
Android 4.4.2 Ubuntu 14.04 Both OS run on Kernel 3.10 LTS.
Which OpenGL and OpenCL are included in Android and Ubuntu?
